Apple Design Guidelines Summary

To ensure Postcard remains successful on the App Store, we must adhere to Apple's core principles of Safety, Performance, and Design.

1. Safety & UGC

As a social networking service with User-Generated Content (UGC), we must provide:

  • A method for filtering objectionable material from being posted.
  • A mechanism to report offensive content and timely responses to concerns.
  • The ability to block abusive users from the service.
  • Published contact information so users can easily reach support.

2. Performance & Completeness

  • Apps must be final versions with fully functional URLs.
  • Backend services must be live and accessible during review.
  • Metadata (screenshots, descriptions) must accurately reflect the app experience.

3. Design Principles

  • Simplicity: Refined, innovative, and easy to use.
  • Privacy: Respect user permission settings and minimize data collection.
  • Native Experience: Use standard iOS behaviors and switches; do not alter system-level functions.

4. Legal & Privacy

  • Every app must include a clear Privacy Policy.
  • Users must explicitly consent to any data collection or recording (camera, microphone).
  • Account deletion must be offered within the app if account creation is supported.
